Who is Davcar?

Doug and Jenny Wadey and Steve and Maureen Bennett, the owners of Sleek-Line Industries Pty. Ltd bought Davcar in December 2004. We have been building horse floats under the name of Sleek-line Horse floats for ten years. Sleek-line Industries Pty. Ltd. builds fibre-glass sleeper boxes for semi trailers in the transport industry.

Sleek-line started life twenty four years ago out of the need for sleeper boxes that were light and strong and would stand up to a long life on the highways of our country.

Sleek-line Industries has grown to be the biggest sleeper box manufacturer in Australia and we will be bringing all the knowledge gained over the last twenty three years, supplying products that are good value for money and will give years of service in our conditions to Davcar Engineering and horse floats.

When we built our first float ten years ago we used dura-gal R.H.S. and we also used load sharing rocker suspension, at that time many manufacturers were not using these products, we also designed and built our saddle storage box in fibreglass that is moulded to the front of the float and is built onto the draw bar. To our knowledge we are the only company doing this.

After learning Davcar was for sale Doug who is a horse owner and president of the Caboolture Trail Horse Club decided to buy the company and bring our experience in building quality products to Davcar and where possible improve the Davcar product.

Customer feedback has helped us to keep improving our sleepers and this will also be the same with our horse floats, and we encourage any feed back on our products so we can continue to improve our horse floats.
